Analyticity is one of those philosophical notions that are intuitively too vague to be easily explicable in an unambiguous way. The trouble with this notion seems to be related to the fact that there is hardly anything that would be analytic or synthetic in some absolute sense. Rather, analyticity is relative to the conceptual framework (logic, theory, language, etc.) used.
